Today we have a lovely, winter Coastal Maine Engagement Session to share with you shot by Jessica Jaccarino Photography! Hannah and Patrick live in Washington, DC but wanted to do their engagement session where they had their first date in Maine! They started their session at the Portland Company and Gateway Pier, moving onto the Maine “locks of love”, and ended over a beer at Gritty’s Pub where Hannah and Patrick had their first date.
Meet Hannah and Patrick!
How did you meet your fiancé?
Patrick and I met while working on health policy for a U.S. Senate campaign in 2012.
Tell us your proposal story!
Patrick planned extensively to try and throw me off the trail since I had (not so) subtly been hinting at a proposal for a while. He fabricated a whole week of activities back in our home state of Maine–starting with a nonexistent lobster bake as an excuse to get me to the proposal spot. When we arrived at the Maine State Pier to catch the ferry for the “lobster bake” we sat on a bench (which was also the site of our first kiss) overlooking the water. That is where Patrick got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together! After all the excitement he let me in on his master plan–a whole week of surprise activities he planned for us that started with a celebratory dinner and ended with a camping trip in Baxter State Park in Northern Maine.
What is your favorite date night?
We typically have very busy schedules so we love when we get a chance to slow down, make dinner together, and watch a movie on our couch.
What is the inspiration behind your wedding?
Our wedding inspiration is drawn from my background in ballet. It will feature a romantic pallet of neutrals with pops of dusty blue and rose gold.
Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We are both big travelers–our shared goal of living abroad in the future is one of the reasons we fell in love! We wanted our honeymoon to be a trip of a lifetime so we picked something both adventurous and relaxing. We will explore Chilean Patagonia for the first few days and then head to Mendoza, Argentina to cap it off with wine, food, and relaxation.
What do you love most about your fiancé?
Patrick is my #1 confidant, partner in crime, cheerleader, and overall best friend. I couldn’t ask for more in a partner.
What are you looking forward to in your marriage?
I am most excited to experience life with my favorite person. I can’t wait to see the amazing things Patrick is going to accomplish.
