We have a romantic Blush and Cream Styled Wedding Shoot shot by Kevyn Dixon Photography!! Marcie + Blaize got to relive their wedding day and remember all the reasons they said “I do” during this lovely shoot!
Our love story is a bit unconventional. We met while serving in a restaurant while in college in 2011. We immediately hit it off and it felt like we had known each other a lifetime. After ten months of dating my husband left for basic training for the Air Force. We had no idea if the long distance was going to work or not. The next ten weeks we did not get to speak but we were able to write letters. Handwritten letters…something so foreign to our generation, but so romantic.
Fast forward through basic training in Texas, months of technical school in Mississippi, and him finally being stationed in South Carolina. Since I was still in college in West Virginia, South Carolina was a God send. Blaize proposed in the Bahamas a month before he left for his first deployment. While he was gone, I graduated college and wedding planned. A month after he was home we had the wedding of our dreams! Through this love story, there is a lot of distance. But in the end, love prevailed!
Wedding Day: Our wedding day was a long day coming. Blaize had only been home from his first deployment for a month before our wedding day. It was a celebration of love and life. A celebration with all of our friends and family. My husband and I are quite traditional. We did not talk the day of our wedding but exchanged letters and took a moment to pray together before our ‘I dos’. We wrote our own vows and our church sang Amen as we walked out. The day was beautiful! I remember crying during the last dance, realizing the day was almost over. It was the perfect day and I did not want it to end. I didn’t realize that the best was yet to come.
Styled Shoot: I had the chance to put my wedding dress back on and my husband his suit for a styled wedding shoot. We of course jumped at the opportunity. The day of anyone’s wedding is amazing and crazy, but there is never enough time in the day. Pictures are missed and moments that can not be captured on camera. There is something magical about being a bride and groom again. The feelings and sentiments come flooding back. The reasons you fell in love are reawakened. My husband is leaving for his second deployment soon. As times get hard, and the distance gets further, I will always remember why I said I do then and why I would say I do all over again. He is my better half and together we are whole!
