Take a look!!
How did you meet?
We met in high school.
Tell us your proposal story!
After dating for 5 years, Adam and I were pretty serious about each other and knew we would spend the rest of our lives together. I had an idea the proposal was coming, but it was so wonderful how it happened! Adam took me to one of our favorite bike paths (just to go for a little walk…on a chilly November Saturday…) When we got to a part of the path where there was a small pond, I looked over to see flower petals and candles spread out right in front of the pond. Adam proposed (I said yes!) and our families jumped out of the bushes (not kidding) with champagne to celebrate. The whole time, Adam had hired a photographer to capture the wonderful moment. It’s so fun to look back on those pictures!
What was the inspiration behind your wedding?
We went back and forth with picking a location for our reception, but we knew that wherever we chose had to be a place our guests could be relaxed and have a good time. We made sure that the details for the day really reflected our love story. We picked an “urban chic” style for the decor and setting. We chose a buffet style dinner with delicious food, had my dad’s Rolling Stone’s tribute band play for part of the night, and did the traditional “hanky dance” at the reception. Overall, we wanted our wedding to be a fun night for our closest family and friends.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
There’s so many moments to pick from! Probably the moment we first saw each other in church. We chose not to do a first look because we wanted that moment to be special. It was definitely worth it! Tears were flowing and we were both so happy in that moment (we were so excited to see each other, we couldn’t stop whispering during the ceremony). The rest of the day was icing on the cake!
What is one piece of wedding planning advice you have for our readers?
While the details are important, don’t get too hung up on them. Looking back at the memories and emotions from that day is the best part! (So make sure you have a great photographer/videographer)
