We love styled shoots and we love when real couples are used as models for them!! Today we’re excited to share with you ‘Southern Jewels,’ a styled shoot featuring rich jewel tones and unique accents. Noble Sparrow Photography and a wonderful team of creative vendors pulled together to create all of the beautiful details!
Savannah and Austin are the bride and groom in the photos!! They have actually been married for three years though!
Meet Savannah and Austin!
How long have you been married? What is your anniversary date? Where were you married?
3 Years; March 18th; Birmingham, Alabama
How did you meet?
Since middle school, I (Savannah) had a HUGE crush on Austin. It wasn’t until we were in high school when he finally noticed me when I had to sing “Oops! I Did it Again” by Britney Spears to him for a school club “initiation”. I was so embarrassed and just knew he would laugh at my dorky, brace face, freshman self and never talk to me again. Well, apparently my terrible singing got him interested and we started dating a few months later and have been together ever since!
What is your best marriage advice?
1. Be honest – brutally honest, when necessary. Open and honest communication has built not only our marriage but our friendship as well.
2. Always put each other first. When all is said and done, at the end of every day, know that you have each other and that is what truly matters. Not the situations you face at work, not the bills on the counter, not the roof over your head. As long as you have each other, you will both be just fine.
What is the hardest thing that you’ve gone through as a couple?
Leaving the stability of our day jobs to pursue our passions. Creating a business of our own (Savannah’s wedding planning and design site – savannahkilpatrick.com; Austin’s photography Instagram) and understanding that not everyone – friends AND family – would understand. We decided to be happy without a set “paycheck” twice a month and do what makes us come alive. Not everyone has understood or agreed with our choices and we have definitely lost friends and family members who don’t agree with our decision, along the way. We still have each other and our passions and constantly push each other to dream harder and live more passionately every single day. We wouldn’t have it any other way!
From the planner, Melissa:
“The concept of this shoot is centered around a rich palette of jewel tones with unexpected accents such as copper, bold marbled and cross-hatched patterns, watercolors, and asymmetrical florals. It’s the feel of velvet, the smell of vetiver, the sound of glasses clinking and laughter sparkling. It’s restrained elegance gone a little wild.”
